Sharon Hoogstraten and "Dancing for Our Tribe" In-Person

Photographer Sharon Hoogstraten will be presenting a talk about her large scale photographs from her Dancing for Our Tribe series. This presentation is in partnership with the Riverside Arts Center as part of Hoogstraten's October 20 - November 30 FlexSpace exhibit. Hoogstraten is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Her series portrays tribal members of all nine Potawatomi Nations in their regalia; photographed on reservation lands in Oklahoma, Michigan, Canada, Kansas and Wisconsin. The photographs have been published as a book containing 150 portraits by Oklahoma University Press. The exhibition has been scheduled to coincide with Indigenous Peoples month.
