Building a Novel from Stories : "Number 12 Rue Sainte-Catherine" with Roberta Gates In-Person
Join Riverside author, Roberta Gates, for a talk about how to develop a novel from linked stories. Based on her work Number 12 Rue Sainte-Catherine and Other Stories, she'll discuss how she used this process to meld stories written across a decade into a cohesive work. She'll also discuss her research into Klaus Barbie, the Gestapo chief in Lyon, France during WWII, and how he became a recurring character in stories centered on Jewish refugees, Resistance figures, British spies, and even French housewives.
The author will do a brief reading and also be on had to sell and sign books.
