Seed Starting with the Riverside Community Garden In-Person

Starting your plants from seed is simple, rewarding, and fun! Join us to learn how to start your favorite veggies and flowers from seed. Not only will you enjoy the “fruits” of your labor with beautiful, nourishing, yummy food, but you’ll also save more money than you might expect. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, this seed-starting class is a great way to start your Spring.
In this class, we’ll cover when & why to start plants from seed, which seeds to start indoors and which seeds to direct sow, as well as when and how to harden off your plants before transplanting outside.
We will supply planting medium (dirt), spray bottles for misting, and tools.
Attendees should bring containers & seeds. Small upcycled containers with a clear lid work great. Things like clear plastic egg cartons, clear plastic apple or pear containers are perfect. You can also use disposable cups, yogurt cups, to-go containers from your local restaurant, etc.
